The Carlsbad Desalination Project will provide San Diego County with a locally-controlled, drought-proof supply of high-quality water that meets or exceeds all state and federal drinking water standards.
Peter MacLaggan, Senior Vice President of Poseidon Resources will provide a historical perspective on water use and availability in the region. He will provide an overview of Poseidon’s endeavor to build a seawater desalination plant in Carlsbad and discuss the permitting and legal challenges faced in bringing seawater desalination to Southern California.
Come learn about Poseidon’s approach to energy management, filtration technologies, brine removal and conveyance needs proposed in making this 50 MGD plant operational.
The purpose of this association is to enhance the education and effectiveness of California's wastewater professionals through training, certification, dissemination of technical information, and promotion of sound policies to benefit society through protection and enhancement of the water environment.
